Venue hire and film location

The Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales gives the opportunity to rent some of the spaces to hold conferences, meetings, shootings, book presentations and events that, preferably, have some relation with the natural sciences. Once the request has been received, the executive team will analyse it, and accept or reject it as soon as possible. It is needed to give the most detailed information and read the terms and conditions about every space before send it.

Biology building

  • Events room
    • 8 hours - 2.000 € / 4 hours - 1.500 € / 187,50 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 100 people.
  • Meeting room
    • 8 hours - 1.000 € / 4 hours - 500 € / 75 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 30 people.
  • Footbridge
    • 8 hours - 3.000 € / 4 hours - 1.500 € / 250 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 45 people.
  • Biodiversity room
    • 8 hours - 12.000 € / 4 hours - 6.000 € / 750 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 130 people.
  • Cajal room
    • 8 hours - 4.000 € / 4 hours - 2.000 € / 500 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 45 people.
  • Guadarrama room
    • 8 hours - 4.000 € / 4 hours - 2.000 € / 500 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 45 people.
  • Central room
    • 8 hours - 4.000 € / 4 hours - 2.000 € / 500 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 15 people.
  • Sea room
    • 8 hours - 4.000 € / 4 hours - 2.000 € / 500 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 35 people in the ground flor, and 30 people in the top floor
  • Circular room
    • 8 hours - 4.000 € / 4 hours - 2.000 € / 500 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 75 people.
  • Garden: The Museum has a garden that is part of our expositions and is open to visitor. Because it's value and daily care, it is not offered to events that may cause harm to it. The only area where rentals are allowed is a paved area:
    • 8 hours - 3.000 € / 4 hours - 1.500 € / 375 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 200 people.
  • Parking (only for events):
    • 60 parking spaces from 8am to 3pm: 1.500 €.
    • 60 parking spaces from 3pm to 8pm: 600 €.
  • Main entrance space:
    • 8 hours - 3.000 € / 4 hours - 1.500 €.
  • Side space with parking and garden
    • 8 hours - 2.000 €. / 4 hours - 1.000 €.

 

Geology building

  • Geology room:
    • 8 hours - 12.000 € / 4 hours - 6.000 € / 750 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 105 people in the top floor, and 95 people in the second floor.
  • Glass room:
    • 8 hours - 3.000 € / 4 hours - 1.500 € / 375 € per hour.
    • Capacity: 40 people.

 

General terms and conditions:

  • The rates are without IVA.
  • The petitioner has the responsability mus't left the instalations in the same conditions that was before the event. The heritage and the enviroment will be care. At all times, the instructions of the MNCN curators regarding lighting will be followed.
  • Only the spaces requested will be available in the specific time they have requested.
  • The MNCN has a audiovisual service in the events room. To be able to use it, the petitioner mus't contract a technician. This service will be paid by the petitioner.
  • The assembly and disassembly will be according to the MNCN conditions and the instructions of the MNCN curators. One the event is finished, the petitioner will retire all the elements and structures added.
  • The use of the graphic image of the MNCN and its logotypes will need an authorization.
  • It is forbidden to make photos with flash.
  • The overtime use will have and extra charge in the invoice.
  • The night shift (from 8pm to 8am) will have a 20% extra charge in the invoice.
  • The MNCN staff in charge of the coordination of the rent will be 60 € per hour. It is mandatory.
  • If the petitioner wan't to make a guided tour, it will be made in groups of 25 people with a rate of 250 € per hour.
  • The rent will not be make until the accept of the general terms and conditions, and a payment of the 20% of the rent via bank transfer.
  • If the rent is cancelled with less than 15 days period, the 20% payment won't be return.
  • For events requiring catering services within the MNCN, the applicant must have express authorization and be responsible for covering the occupied floor with carpet. Cooking and smoke emissions are not permitted inside the museum.
  • Artistic events or shows must have the corresponding permit from the General Society of Authors (SGAE) or similar.
  • Iddentification data will be given to the security staff to preserve the security of the Museum.
  • It is forbidden to place marketing and publicity resources without the authorization of the Museum.

 

The rent includes:

  • The the spaces during the agreed time.
  • The minimal light use for the rent.
  • The MNCN security staff for 150 people maximun.
  • The cleaning staff after the event.
  • It is allowed t he parking of vehicles for loading and unloading of events materials.

 

The rent does not include:

  • The petitioner must rent a security service if the event is for more than 150 people.
  • The cleaning services for the residue generated by the event in all of its phases.
  • The increase of the light consumption.
